Within metro-boulot-dodo and Watch This Space (MBD’s history based sister company) David often has to write poetry to order. Poetry about historical sights being the most common. This can be exciting: the gunpowder plot. Or it can be a bit dull: different types of limestone. So, he can sit down a squeeze out an ode to almost anything. An example of how MBD has taught him to be creatively disciplined.
His personal poetry, however, is never “squeezed out”. David writes poetry very occasionally and only when a poem steps forward and demands to be written. That’s what will be on this site. Please try to read them aloud. They are meant to be said. Scroll over the phrase “personal writing” above then over “poetry” that pops up to see a list of stuff that rhymes. Enjoy.
